Solstice 2024! One magical night, 2 uplifting shows.
UpSwing Aerial Dance Company invites you to experience the magic of the longest night of the year at our annual "Solstice" celebration on December 21st. Join us for an enchanting evening filled with breathtaking aerial performances, live music, and the award-winning film "Sequoia Spirits," showcasing the majestic Redwoods of Mendocino, CA.
Held at the intimate Studio 12, located at 2525 Eighth St, Berkeley, CA, this year’s Solstice celebration will feature two performances at 5 PM and 8 PM, offering audiences an unforgettable opportunity to witness the beauty and artistry of aerial dance in a festive atmosphere. Aerial performers include: Kiran Satellite Haithcox, KC Hyland, Dorian Maffei, Elizabeth Scotten, Chris Spiteri, and Helium Valentine.
The evening will be underscored by live musical performances from an exciting lineup of talented artists, including Dan Cantrell, Regina Myers, Amar Singh, and Sahib-Amar Kaur. Their captivating sounds will complement the visual artistry of our aerial performers as they celebrate the return of the sun through the magic of movement and music.
Prior to the main event, attendees are invited to immerse themselves in an interactive pre-show experience designed by Max Bora. This engaging addition will allow guests to connect with the spirit of the solstice and prepare for the spectacular show that lies ahead.
As a special highlight, the celebration will feature a screening of "Sequoia Spirits," an award-winning film that captures the ethereal beauty of Redwood groves, inviting viewers to reflect on the harmony between nature and art.

BLUE - An aerial dance performance grounded in life and love. "Blue" an new show that takes us through life. Blues have a way of breaking barriers between people. It is a piece of mind, it is our ups and downs, our round and rounds. To go through life you must go through the blues. It is truly a creative and beautiful way to express the deepest of emotions we humans possess. Blues is life. Returning from his European tour with Bobby McFerrin, Dave Worm, with his blues inflected vocals, will be our musical guest.
